A volunteer fit for all

C3 PTSA Volunteer FAQs

How can I become a volunteer with Denver Public Schools?

Before volunteering at a DPS school you must complete a background check with DPS Family & Community Engagement. Once you have completed that and received your results, please forward it to Bella in our front office to be approved. From there, you can utilize our online sign ups (see below) to choose where you want to get involved! You will be asked to show your ID when you check in at the front office to volunteer if you are helping out at school or with students.

What are the benefits of volunteering?

It is easy to see the benefits of helping our school community to create fun fabulous events, raise money for our programs and school and keep our day to day operations chugging along. But there is a hidden benefit to volunteering with C3 PTSA! It is the amazing network of friends you will create as you get to know the other caregivers and administrators at C3. This is truly the most valuable part of joining our team. Plus you get to see our kind, courageous thinkers in action. It is truly heartwarming to watch our students at their absolute best.

What my best volunteer fit is at C3?

We have so many options with various time commitments and locations, so your best bet is to take our online interest survey. We can hone in on your skills and expertise and find out where and when the best times are for you to donate your valuable time and skills. Whether you can come to school to volunteer or you need to help from your computer at home, we would love your help! There are ongoing projects as well as once a year events to join in on.

Can I volunteer for activities where I will get to see my student(s)?

You bet! Some sign ups are coordinated via grade level room helpers (think community partner field trips, class parties) and some are more general (library helpers, lunch/recess volunteers) When possible, we always try to designate when the grade and class is where so you can sign up where your students are so that you can see them in action.

OK! I am background checked and approved! How do I sign up for shifts and committees?

Hooray! We have all of our sign ups coordinated via LinkTree, which you can find our unique link for on our weekly newsletter communications or through your volunteer confirmation email. And coming soon, we will also coordinate more grade level sign ups here.
